Illumination of the Soul

Daydreams and Detours is a joint exhibition by Melbourne artist Catherine Neil and Blue Mountains artist Livonne Larkins, two creators who met at an artist's residency in France and are connected by their shared ties to Canberra. Working in distinct mediums, both artists weave whimsy into reality, intentionally crafting artwork that brings joy to themselves and their audience. Through vibrant landscapes and hidden narratives, their storybook style appeals equally to adults and children. Cate’s layered acrylic paintings reveal complex textures and detailed sub-plots within expansive views, while Livonne’s realistic photographs feature clever eastereggs that spark curiosity.
